《独自莫凭栏》Do Not Stay alone on the Rail

《独自莫凭栏》

夜深时分,赌城
那些扑克桌上往往厮杀激烈,
好似尘土飞扬。

看看,又来了!多好的一副牌,
结果输在最后那张
被称之为“江河”的牌上。

堆集如山的筹码,
刚刚推过来,现又被推到
赌桌的另一方。

一手提啤酒,一手夹烟头,
刚在这桌上输得精光的玩客
在扑克室外独自凭栏。

“独自莫凭栏,无限江山。”
看到此,我脑海里刹那间
闪过李后主的名句。

不自觉,嘴里喃喃:
“故国不堪回首
月明中。”


注:李后主本是南唐皇帝,在位十五年。公元974年,
南唐为宋兵南下攻破,他被俘到汴京。三年后,李后
主四十二岁生日,宋太宗命人将他毒死,只因他写有
“故国不堪回首月明中”一词。


Do Not Stay alone on the Rail

Deep into the night,
poker games often get out of the dirt
And are full of action.

Here goes again, another good hand
Gets beat on the river. Mountains of chips
Are being shoveled around the table.

A beer in one hand and a cigarette in another,
Outside the poker room, the player just busted out
Of this lively game stands alone on the rail.

"Do not stay alone on the rail,
There are endless rivers
And countless mountains
Of the lost country. "

Instantaneously I recall this poem
By Li Houzhu and spontaneously
Murmur another famous one of his:

"How can one stand
To look back at the lost country
In moonlight."


Poet's Note: Li Houzhu, the emperor of Southern
Tang Dynasty, who lost his dynasty after 15 years
of ruling in 974 AD to the conquering Song Dynasty
and was taken as a prisoner of war. Three years later,
at his 42nd birthday, he died of poison by the order
of the ruling Song Dynasty emperor simply because he
wrote: "How can one stand to look back at the lost
country in moonlight."

[美] 克劳迪娅-凯兰Claudia Keelan 诗三首

Claudia Keelan is the author of four books of poetry and the director of the MFA International at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She lives in Arden, Nevada, with her husband and two children.

克劳迪娅-凯兰是四本诗集的作者,目前在拉斯维加斯内华达大学主持国际艺术硕士培训工作。她与丈夫及两个孩子住在美国内华达州阿登市。


Antique

She bought the teapot because it was broken
& broken still valuable,
A thing not available to her otherwise.
On its restored surface a pastoral
Flickered once. Too late.
She was not honest but she was a poet
Mending the broken valuable . . .
"What absolute nonsense!" cried the Earthworm. "Nothing
Is ever all right in the end and well you know it."
Poor Earthworm, Ladybug whispered,
Loving all that is disaster
Bellydown breathing with it everafter.

《古董》

茶壶虽破却仍有价值,
她买了下来,
因为如果没破就没她的份儿。
茶壶外表原本隐约可见的田园景色
修补好后已不见踪影。可惜!
她不算诚实但她是一个诗人,
把补救已损的有用物品看作本分。
“这绝对是在胡说八道!”蚯蚓哭述,
“末了一切都没好结果,这你知道。”
可伶的蚯蚓, 花瓢虫低语道,
爱上了所有的那些灾难,
从此随灾难一起爬下喘息。


Au Revoir

Something happened to time
Or something happened to the mind
In time in the months
Of the 1st year after
The 20th century ended
Never before had the present
Filled so with the past's
Immediate and enormous
Body Everything said
Which was meant to be said now
Was a mistake
Now was over really & though
We'd expected it to be over
Years and years before
Here we were
There, the future oh my
Inside its elephant alphabet

《告别》

是时间出了毛病
还是头脑出了毛病
二十世纪结束后
第一年的这些日月里
如今的空间
竟破天荒地被过去
刚刚消失的庞大身体
充塞得如此的满
过去说了本该现在说的话
那是一个错误
如今实实在在地过去了
尽管我们期望它
多年前就已成为过去
这儿我们来过
那儿是未来,哎呀
它就在那大象般的字母里


Towards

It was love and then
it was poetry
but it was poetry
that believed in love.
It was doubt and then
well, it was faith
but it was poetry
we worried the beads of.
It was death and then
─or before then?
in the actual face of─
in the deep pilings of─
fallen in the bagged old city
of─and then it was life,
savaged in the mouthings,
scraped in the garbage tin
of, ate in the holy
oh holy day of it was life
but it was poetry
we closed her lids with.

《朝向》

先是爱情,然后
是诗歌。
但是是诗歌
才对爱情深信不疑。
先是怀疑,然后
是信仰。
但是是诗歌
让我们最为操心。
先是死亡,然后
--- 或者没有然后?
在现实的面前---
在林林总总的情形下---
坠入臃肿的老城中---
然后,才是生活,
言辞的粗暴,
垃圾桶的磕磕碰碰,
在神圣又神圣的日子里,
吞没掉的是生活。
但是是诗歌,
我们靠她才得以盖得紧紧。

[美] 唐纳德-瑞沃(Donald Revell)诗选译三首

唐纳德-瑞沃是美国犹他大学的英语教授。他曾两次荣获美国笔会颁发的诗歌奖,也是美国诗人学会马歇尔奖的获得者,并且还是美国梅里尔基金会和美国古根海姆基金会的老会员。另外,全国艺术捐赠基金会曾两次给他颁发诗歌奖学金。他曾是《丹佛季刊》的主编,目前担任《科罗拉多评论》的诗编辑。瑞沃与妻子以及两个孩子住在内华达州拉斯维加斯市漠南。


《我的莫哈韦沙漠》My Mojave


影,
就象
大白天里
落陨石,
这还只是个
开始。

一个完美的圈掉落
在洁白的不完美上。
(去想一想那黑路吧,
阳光灿烂的一整天里,
它看上去发白的样子。)

或者我可以说,
阴影和幻景
补偿着世界,
在没有任何变化当中,
它的变化就已完成。

一场风暴后的早晨,
笤帚有用。屋前,
有碎玻璃得捡起来。
后院,沙土上面
覆盖着透明的翅膀。
在风中的昆虫用不上翅膀,
就放弃了他们。为什么
翅膀没有四处飞扬?为什么
他们掉下后就静止不动?
风一定是穿他们而过。

嫉妒的情人,
你的欲望
以同样的方式而过。

嫉妒的地球,
有一个阴影
不是你所能独有。
在大白天里,
我的灵魂只想去
那是白路的黑路。
我毫无必要
象风暴中的翅膀那样,
上帝就是那风暴。


《询问》INQUIRE

上帝是有多少
桥梁和汽车
受风格的影响
在句中被卡断?

远远看来微弱又可怕
如同所有的魔幻
打碎了又捏上
然后凭空消失,

上帝坚持
在苏醒注射器面前
放声高歌。
他是无穷无尽的暂停。

他砍树,
树等着倒下。

《顺天势折腰》Bending with the sky

顺天势折腰
一片干枯的草地上
适势的小草
吞吐着借助风威的火焰
风有的是火

一次宽容
释放出第二次
沙漠绽放宽容
更加壮观

顺天势折腰
要在火上繁荣
真实的生命非得有
一颗崭新的心
心有的是火
