The Water Song - When Will Moon Be Full

Mid Autumn, 1076 AD, drunk all day all night, totally wasted, wrote this poem, somehow I felt missing my brother.

When will moon be full, 

I toasted to the sky asking.

What year would it be 

in gods ‘ palace, I wonder.

I would love to ride up 

with the wind, but scared 

of being too cold up that high.

And to dance with the chill light,

it won’t be the same as on earth.

The moonlight moves, 

lowers herself into the window,

and shines on the sleepless.

No need to hate, why keeps 

longing for its fullest.

Sorrow or joy, separated or together, 

it’s the same as bright moon or dark, full or not, 

it has been ever so.

Just wish we will be ever, wherever on earth, 

sharing the same moon together.

丙辰中秋，歡飲達旦，大醉，作此篇。 兼懷子由。

明月幾時有，把酒問青天。

不知天上宮闕，今夕是何年？

我欲乘風歸去，又恐瓊樓玉宇，

高處不勝寒。

起舞弄清影，何似在人間！

轉朱閣，低綺戶，照無眠。

不應有恨，何事長向別時圓？

人有悲歡離合，月有陰晴圓缺，

此事古難全。

但願人長久，千里共嬋娟。
