MEETING by Shih Ru Bin

MEETING
By Shih Ru Bin

Translated by "Laoha" Mario Li

The calls of wild geese stay after they are gone.
On water, the passing boats leave nothing.
In the dimness, the colors of this mundane world
Of right and wrong are followed by the absent minds.
The beautiful poems and youthful songs,
Like the leaves of Madagascar almond tree,
Nurse your artery and enhance your respiration.
A desiccated world is believed to be still warm.
Sound like musical notes and look like jewelry,
The golden grains of autumn wheat made you write
With the cursive style of an ancient Chinese calligrapher.
You said it’s a desolation hoping for winter snow.

Still having needs and still having passions,
You cultivated to such an extent and still

Have not figured out what life and death are about,
Saying the past is not past like a smoke.
OK!
When it’s time for us to meet, with a clear mind,
I promise I’ll knuckle right on your head.
All the agonies are due to being alive.

*Shih Ru Bin, a Buddhist poetess, pen name "zenyueh", born in 1964, curently living in a convent in Taiwan.
