Five Short Poems 《短诗五首》
Comet 《彗星》
It would be so nice to be a comet once,
Burn the decayed bones
To light up the rose at night.
And the rose is so much
Like a poetess rinsing
Her body with dews.
Pagoda of Wonderful Reasons 《妙因塔》
At that noon, on the seventh floor,
I, a provincial man,
Stretched my tongue the way out
To have the burning heat in my body
Completely transferred back to your
City.
Dream 《理想》
Unable to reach the river,
On the way back,
You made a struggle
In my palm.
And later that night, I had a dream.
In it you turned into a bomb
Falling into the freezing water.
War 《战争》
If a war broke up,
I would love to watch
Those female POWs in ragged clothes
Got all changed up
Walking on the runway.
With the turn of one night, all those
Naked neck bones started to shine.
Butterfly 《蝴蝶》
Under the red rail, nobody noticed
Nightfall had covered
The dead body of a butterfly.
In the dark, a show girl, without
Any facial expression, was going home,
Putting away the wings
Which were getting heavier and heavier.
